Children’s Healing Art Project Director Steps Down

Children's Healing Art Project (CHAP) executive director, Roxie McGovern, is stepping down after three years.  

As executive director Roxie led a team of staff, seasoned teaching artists and corps of volunteers to triple the number of CHAP healing art experiences to 9,000 in 2014, according to CHAP. 

McGovern's role will be passed onto CHAP staff and board and soon, a new executive director.

CHAP encourages Roxie McGovern fans to drop in and shower her with art, love, hugs and thanks at the CHAP Holiday Bazaar open to all Fri., Sat. and Sun. through December 21 at the CHAP Studio: 1910 SE 11th ST in Portland. 

In 2014, CHAP expanded their hospital programs at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Harold Schnitzer Diabetes center at OHSU, OHSU Pediatric Neurology Clinic and Shriners Hospital for Children.
