Groovin' Greenhouse

Polaris Dance Theatre is once again collaborating with the Fertile Ground Festival of New Work to present 'Groovin’ Greenhouse,' an incubator of local dance talent.

Groovin’ Greenhouse provides an accessible and intimate space for audiences to watch diverse, lively and engaging performances by Portland dancers and choreographers. The annual production returns to the stage for the 11-day arts festival, Fertile Ground Festival of New Work

Polaris Artistic Director Robert Guitron and the Polaris dancers, will open each night with a fresh and innovative dance piece. Other Portland- area dance companies like dance and choreographers collective, Art in Progress, and middle eastern inspired organization, Portland Belly Dance Guild (just to name a few), will engage audiences with original dance pieces throughout each evening.

Guitron, founded the dance company in 2002. Polaris focuses on creating visually innovative, emotionally charging, and thought-provoking contemporary dance performances. Throughout the last ten years, Polaris has created 291 new works and has entertained over 11,000 audience members of all ages. Polaris also provides affordable dance classes (10 one hour dance classes can be as low as $135) believing that dance is for every age, body shape, and ability.

Performances take place at Polaris Studio Theatre, 1501 SW Taylor (at the corner of 16th and Taylor), January 22nd- January 31st. For more information click here
