KBOO Seeks Proposals for New Queer Programming
Thursday, May 28, 2015
The requests for proposals comes in light of the bittersweet retirement of Out Loud.
Out Loud was created by a group of passionate volunteers who were focused on serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning communities. Now, after thirteen years of faithful service, Out Loud will be saying goodbye in June.
Hoping to find another great, queer-themed show, KBOO is accepting proposals for a new program. The program will air every Tuesday from 6pm - 7pm in between KBOO’s evening news and Hard Knock Radio.
“While I'm sad that Out Loud is retiring, this change is my choice. This opportunity will hopefully lead to more new voices and new perspectives added to the airwaves, broadcasting the fabulous rainbow that we know exhist in our LGBTQ communities,” said Carla, one of the hosts of Out Loud.
The proposals may be submitted until June 9th, 2015, and the new program will be chosen by the Programming committee. On their website, KBOO estimates that the new schedule of shows will be made available in July.

If you have any questions about the proposal process or KBOO, an information session will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
KBOO Community Radio Station is located at 20 SE 8th Ave.
