Milepost 5 Presents Award-winning Poets, Kirstin Roedell and Wayne Lee

Wayne Lee has been published in several literary journals and anthologies, including Pontoon, The New Guard, Nimrod and Slipstream. He has been previously awarded the Mark Fischer Poetry Prize and the SICA Poems for Peace Award. Lee will be reading excerpts from his most recent published collection, Googling a Present Participle: Poems, Prose Poems, Bogus Monologues & Fraudulent Artifacts, as well as poems from his previous collections.
Poet Kristen Roedell has been published in over fifty journals and anthologies and has had several award nominations, including a nomination for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Web. Roedell has previously been awarded NISA’s 11th Annual Brainstorm Poetry Contest.
The literary reading series will be located on 850 NE 81st Ave. (entrance on Oregon St.) on Tuesday, Sept. 15 starting at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an open mic following the readings. The event is free and open to the public.

Milepost 5 is a local art community home to musicians, writers, painters and many other artists alike. It’s part of Art Haus and Artists’ Milepost 5 and contains several gallery spaces dedicated to the arts.

On January 15, under a steady rain, more than 25 of Oregon-based painters, sculptors, photographers, writers and musicians showcased new works in their natural habitat, aka a sub-ground maze, at the Falcon Art Community Open Studio Party at the Falcon Art space in North Portland.
