Northwest Academy’s Angry Pigeon Gallery is honored to host a celebration of the life and work of Northwest Academy alumnus Will Gerould. Will passed away in November 2014.
“His work is a somatic meditation, a freedom dance on paper,” Will’s mother said. “The lines, splatters, and washes in his drawings embody the questions "What if? What now? Why not?”
His studies in Buddhism, Quantum Physics and Mathematical Fractals are manifested in his explorations in textures and patterns.
Just as the making of art was an emotional release for him, he hoped his energy would transcend beyond the moment and connect him with the viewer. For the viewer, his spirit continues to live.
Free admission is offered to those who wish to visit the gallery. The work of Will Gerould will be displayed throughout The Angry Pigeon Gallery at the Northwest Academy.
The gallery will host receptions to commemorate his astounding visual artwork on Thursday, June 4th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, June 5th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit is open through June 26.
