Portland Boutique Backtalk Opening New Location in SW PDX

The new location will be filled with pieces from local independent designers as well as vintage finds and ceramic goods. The first location is currently carrying designers like; Prime Cut, Machine Apparel, REIF, and Is Was & Will Be (just to name a few).
Owner Katie Freedle will also be sharing a studio in the store with local apparel designer, Laurs Kemp. Customers will be able to see the two work on beautiful creations that will be available in the shop.
Kemp’s latest collection features elements of Japanese minimalism and ’70s loungewear. The collection will be debuting along with brand new Jessie Weitzel's mixed media sculptures.
Weitzel sculptures often focuses on organisms relationship with their environment. Her latest collection “Mineral Composites,” features rabbit fur, plaster, foam, and glitter. See both Weitzel and Kemp’s new collections at the Grand Opening party.
Freedle RillRill jewelry designer, opened up the small brick and mortar Backtalk, on 15th and Alberta in 2012. Backtalk moved to a bigger location on Historic Mississippi Avenue in 2013, evolving into a go to place for buying locally made clothing and vintage finds. Freedle is moving forward providing a space to shop quality pieces in downtown Portland.
