Green Zebra Grocery announced details to open a second store location in Portland’s Lloyd District in early 2016. Following a $2.5 million capital raise, the grocery store have decided to expand in Portland’s “newest neighborhood” in Hassalo.
The new grocery store will be approximately 8,203 SF in size and feature healthy, local and organic foods, as well as sustainable meat and seafood. The new location will also include a full deli and salad bar, a coffee and tea bar, as well as beer and wine and other everyday grocery items.
The new location in the Lloyd district will hire approximately 40-50 people in the upcoming year and will be announcing positions as they become available.
Green Zebra Grocery’s first location in the Kenton neighborhood has been open for about two years and has managed to create a lasting and influential impact on the local community and food economy. The grocery store purchases their produce from 60 growers, ranchers and vendors within the Pacific Northwest. The store currently employs over 50 people with a starting wage of $11.10/hr.
