The
Flying Fish Company, a local family-owned business selling sustainable foods, is campaigning the help of local Portlanders using Kickstarter in order to raise money for business expansion and improvements.
The campaign asks for the community to support local businesses and food by making contributions through Kickstarter. The ultimate goal for the company is to raise fifty thousand dollars in the span of four weeks. The contributions from the Kickstarter will be used to build a new oyster bar and retail location on Sandy Blvd. Aside from the oyster bar, the new location will offer meat and seafood selections, as well as wine and beer.
In support of the Kickstarter campaign, local activists and artists ventured around the community in search for local food sources and to advocate for a better food system. Through a five minute campaign film, they were able to share the importance of businesses like the Flying Fish Company.
Flying Fish Company connects the Portland community to small scale, regional fishermen and farmers around Oregon and Washington. The Flying Fish Co. is unique for its pursuit to utilize direct relationships as part of its business model and to created lasting connections with its consumers.
The campaign is currently open and will be running from July 27 to August 23. There will also be weekly events, promotions and updates regarding all things concerning the campaign for the Flying Fish Company customers and contributors. For more information regarding the campaign or to donate contact Kristen Mico.
