Portland natives, Matt and Jill Reed will be appearing on
ABC’s Shark Tank in order to promote their alternative and intuitive beehive designs that are locally sourced-and-built for backyard beekeepers.
The Reeds own Bee Thinking, a full-service online and retail beekeeping supply company based out of Portland, Ore. Bee Thinking was founded in 2008 by Matt and Jill as an online store. They now have a retail location in Southeast Portland.
The couple is eager to pitch their business to the Sharks because their handcrafted beehives are rapidly gaining market share across the United States and oversees.
“Backyard beekeeping is exploding throughout the world,” said Matt Reed. “We hope our Shark Tank segment informs the world about the critical role honeybees play in our ecosystem, helps people make better decisions in their daily lives in regard to pollinators and makes more people join the ranks of responsible beekeepers.”
Shark Tank is a hit-show that appears on ABC that offers entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their business or ideas to well-established business owners.
The episode will appear on ABC’s Shark Tank on Friday, April 10th at 9pm PST.
