Umpqua Bank announces Arrow Coffeehouse of Damascus as the winner of the $10,000 Made to Grow Grant contest.

“Since first opening our door, the success of Arrow Coffeehouse has truly been a result of the amazing community of Damascus. I’ve been incredibly humbled by the people who have rallied around us, and encouraged us to keep working hard” says Erica Escalante, owner of Arrow Coffeehouse.

The Made to Grow Grant contests was conceived to acknowledge small businesses that are helping to inspire growing communities. Arrow Coffeehouse was selected by public vote as this year’s winner, beating out nine other finalists.

“With the Made to Grow Grant we’ll be able to infuse that same energy back into the community, and provide healthy food options to our customers while supporting other small businesses in our area,” says Escalante. She also plans on using the grant money to expand counter space and make room for additional refrigerators for new menu items.

Old 99 Brewing Co., Swift Cider, All Adventures Rafting, Inner Sanctum Cellars, and Sweetheart Donuts were picked to receive a business-building package created to address some of the challenges small business owners confront most often.

“At Umpqua Bank we recognize the importance of investing in small businesses, and the Made to Grow Grant has created another opportunity for us to engage and support organizations in our communities who are making a significant impact in their local economies,” said Eve Callahan, EVP Communications & Community for Umpqua Bank. “Arrow Coffeehouse embodies our phrase “Made to Grow” with her drive to help grow her business and her community. Please join us in congratulating Arrow Coffeehouse and thanking the other small businesses who submitted for the grant.”
