This is a huge dining holiday so, if you are planning on going out to a nice place, take the time to make a reservation and do so quickly.

The day tends to creep up on you, but you will thank yourself for having the proper foresight when the hostess ushers you past the cluster of embarrassed guests and their frustrated dates.

Know that the people that work these holidays as well as the restaurant owners are looking forward to making your day special, often to the price of compromising their own relationships. So, tip accordingly. And for goodness' sake, no getting drunk and arguing.
