James Beard Public Market Partners with Local Businesses for Market Fuego Fiesta
Tuesday, July 28, 2015
This event is a Mexican-themed festival that will give guests a chance to enjoy a special menu created for the day.
The menu includes a choice of lamb barbacoa, pork, or albacore ceviche, along with corn “elotes,” sautéed spicy greens, and grilled carrots with cumin.
Next, guests will be able to pair their meal with a choice between ginger peach sangria, rum spiked horchata, beer, and wine.
For dessert, Salt & Straw’s “choice tacos” will be featured.
The James Beard Public Market operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with plans to open a daily, year-round, indoor-outdoor marketplace in 2018.
Since part of the company's mission is to promote local economic development, community health, and businesses, The James Beard Public Market is ecstatic to partner with two of Portland’s favorite business for this event.
“We’re so thrilled to receive this kind of support from two highly respected and established businesses with missions that closely align with that of the James Beard Public Market. The collaboration between Fireside and Old Salt Marketplace reinforces the idea that many other types of local and regional businesses will be able to leverage the James Beard Public Market to create one-of-a-kind experiences like Market Fuego Fiesta at Fireside, ”said Ron Paul, executive director of the James Beard Public Market.
