Nicky USA celebrates 25 years with a special anniversary dinner benefitting
The Portland Kitchen, a free culinary after school and summer program.
Chris Carriker chef at Portland's 23 Hoyt is joining forces with Seattle chef Jonathan Sundstrom of Lark, to prepare a delicious meal featuring Nicky Farms protein. Rabbit, quail, goat, venison, and elk, will be paired with local wines from Andrew Rich Wines and Union Wine Company.
Guests will also have the chance to tour the Nicky USA farm with founders Geoff and Melody Latham.
Proceeds will help Nicky USA’s non-profit partner, The Portland Kitchen. The Portland Kitchen’s mission is to empower urban youth to graduate high school with culinary job skills and improved eating habits. The non-profit offers broad culinary after school and summer programs to Portland high school students. Programs and workshops teach students butchering skills and offer mentoring opportunities to teens. Nicky USA will donate a minimum of $1,000 from this event to The Portland Kitchen.
Geoff Latham founded Nicky USA in 1990, with the goal of providing a wide variety of fresh free range game birds and meats. The Portland based has since worked with James Beard Award-winning chefs as well as local and international ranchers. Nicky USA has also developed a specialty line of products featuring Northwest elk, raised rabbit, water buffalo, and American bison. The company has built one of the nation’s only mobile, sustainable, and humane processing units that is USDA-compliant.
Nicky USA’s 25th anniversary dinner, Nicky Farms in Aurora Oregon, Saturday, June 27th, 5 pm -9 pm, $125. For more information click HERE.
