Rosalynn

Breed: Hound / Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Adult

Hello, my name is Rosalynn. I arrived at the shelter as a insecure stray dog in need of some groceries! My shelter friends have started me on the road to recovery and are hoping that a patient gentle new family can pick up where they left off. Have you ever had a hound before? Then you must know that we like to smell, smell, smell! My new family should use reward based training methods to help build my confidence with strangers, take me for lots of walks to explore the world and give me lots of love. Are you prepared for that? Please come down and meet me. I am around 3 years old and weigh 37 pounds. I am spayed.

Bella

Breed: Domestic Shorthair/ Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Adult

Bella is a round, grey and white tabby looking for a calm home with comfy laps and lots of sunshine. Our Bella is affectionate and mellow with adults, but avoids younger children. She has lived in the past with larger dogs and another female cat, and it seems she likes to rule the roost. If you have other pets that will willingly accommodate this desire, wonderful! Otherwise, Bella would be just fine as the only furry friend in your life. Bella is 9-years-old, spayed, and ready to go to her new family today!

Miranda

Breed: Pitbull, American/ (Purebred)
Gender: Female
Age: Baby

Hello, my name is Miranda! I am a cute young and beautiful lady that is looking for a new family. I arrived at the shelter with a patchy hair coat that my shelter friends have already started me on the path to recovery. With a good quality diet and consistent flea control my hair should grow back nicely. Enthusiastic, entertaining, confident and social are a few words to describe my personality. My adopter should be prepared to use positive training techniques for continued socialization, and guidance to help me become a well behaved companion. I will also need to slow introductions to other dogs to help build my confidence and skills with other dogs. The shelter is asking that any new children in my home be over the age of 8 and that my adopters sign us up for training classes to start our new life together. My adoption fee will be reduced if you provide a receipt and registration to a training class before taking me home. Interested in me? Please come down to the shelter and say hello. I am around 4 months old and weigh 23 pounds.

Ali

Breed: Domestic Shorthair/ Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Adult

Ali is a round and spunky calico with a lot of charm and a lot of energy. She is 9-years-old, but she's no couch potato. She's curious, likes to play, and has good recall - maybe teach her fetch? In her previous home Ali played with the family dog more than the other cat, and liked older children. Ali, like many calicos, gets a little grumbly when things don't go her way but forgives easily. She is spayed and ready to find her new home today!

Tate

Gender: Male
Age: Elderly

Hi the names Tate, at least that’s what the shelter named me. I am a gentle gent looking to start my new life with you. At 10 years old and weighing in at 45 lbs I am the perfect mellow guy. Leisurely walks and big, cozy beds are what I'm looking for. The shelter does not know much about me but they did notice my keen interest in the smaller creatures. I might be a little too interested, if you know what I mean. Still interested? Please ask about me today!

Licorice

Breed: Domestic Shorthair/ Mix
Gender: Male
Age: Baby

Licorice was one of 4 siblings that came into MCAS at about 4 weeks, needing some fine tuning. Licorice was a protective big brother. He's a fierce kitten with a lot of heart. He was curious about my intentions with his litter mates at first. He did not want to be bothered by me. After a few days of having him, he came down with a cold that turned into pneumonia. Licorice was a sick little guy & fought very hard for his life. Finally giving into me and allowing me to care for him. I spent many hours awake with him. I slept in the bathroom, holding him up right and comforting him. That's where our bond began. Since then he has learned to trust. He's sweet, playful, fun and has a great personality. He loves to play with all his toys. He and his litter mates will sit around the cricket tank and watch them jump around. He likes to run up and down his cat tree and explore. Licorice is a great kitten, and will make someone a lovely companion. He is just about 8 months old and weighs about 4 pounds. Licorice is currently in foster care. If you would like to learn more about him, please contact his foster mom, Elisha, at [email protected]

Junebug

Breed: Terrier / Mix
Gender: Female

Junebug is a 7 year old, 17lb terrier mix who is currently in foster care. If you are interested in her, contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator, at [email protected] or 503-988-6247 to set up a time to meet her! Junebug came to MCAS very shy, and is still unsure about strangers. She would like a quiet adoptive home that will be understanding of her fears and go slow with her to help her see that the world is not a scary place. She is energetic and sweet and loves her foster parents. She knows a few basic commands and is housetrained. She is good with cats and would probably be fine with other dogs. She should go to a home with kids 12 and older or no kids. Ask about Junebug today!

Flicker

Breed: Domestic Shorthair/ Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Elderly

Hi there! My name is Flicker and I'm searching for a very special home. I came to the shelter in need of some serious veterinary care. I was covered in fleas, which created an awful skin infection, scabbing, and hairloss. I will need quality flea control, monthly, for the rest of my life. I will also need to be an INDOOR ONLY kitty to help prevent fleas from getting on me. I also had severe ear infections, dental disease, and worst of all I had an enormous mass hanging out of my eye. It was very painful. The veterinary staff thought that I was such a sweet kitty, and even though removing it could cause a lengthy recovery, I was worth it. I am still recovering from the surgery, but it is time for me to find a loving home. Although my eye is gone now, along with several teeth, I am a very outgoing lady that is getting around just fine at 14 years of age. I am really looking forward to spending the rest of my golden years on someone's nice warm lap. Please come down to the shelter and meet me today!

Davey (was Dawson)

Breed: Chihuahua/ Mix
Gender: Male

Hey there. I'm Davey, or sometimes "Red" because of my collar color. I am currently in foster care. If you are interested in me contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator at a[email protected] or 503-988-6247 to set up a time to meet me. I was found along with my three other siblings abandoned in a vacant home. I am not quite as outgoing as my braver brother Paulie, but I really, really want to trust people. You will see it in my eyes! I will solicit attention from you once I'm comfortable with my surroundings (definitely check out my video http://youtu.be/D4nJmqPWa0A to see how outgoing I was after just a couple hours in foster care). I do love a good dog treat. So if you have any treats handy, we'll become fast friends. I am enjoying stuffed toys and squeaky tennis balls. New things can be a little scary to me, so the shelter is recommending that I go to a home with kids 12 and older, or no kids. I am about 14 weeks old, so that means all the fun things that go along with adopting a puppy. I will need potty-training guidance. I've got a terrific head start with piddle pads. I love to hang out in a crate, so crate training was a snap. Positive reinforcement training would do wonders for our future relationship. We will learn so much about each other in training classes together and I love to learn! Ask about me today.

He's 8-years-old, neutered, and really looking forward to blowing this popsicle stand for his own home and soft, fluffy bed. Is that home yours? Ask about our shy, sweet Sammy today!
