Free Metered Parking in Portland on Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

Visitors to the City of Portland will have slightly heavier pockets on Thursday, as there will be free metered parking throughout the city in honor of Thanksgiving.

Electronic meters will be programmed not to accept any payment on Thursday, while residents should refrain from depositing coins into traditional meters.

Metered parking in the City of Portland is free on nine holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
