"The Hair Ball," BodyVox's annual fundraising gala, was a hair- and money-raising affair that included dinner, a live auction and late night dancing. Lots of dancing.
Founded in 1997, by co-artistic directors Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland, BodyVox is a inspring dance company that lives to entertain. It should come as no surprise then that their annual fundaising gala is one of the most entertaining fundraising events of the year.
This year's theme was "The Hair Ball," encouraging patrons to get wigged-out and whip their beehives up into the sky. Following a silent auction in one of the BodyVox dance studios, guests were ushered into the main theater for dinner, a live auction and dancing via the groovy tunes of Hit Machine.
By night's end over $175,000 was raised before the wigs came off from such wonderful guests as event chair Meredith English, Jim Thompson, Gary Nelson, Minh Tran, Christopher Mattaliano, Jay Harter, Al Solheim, Jeff Hawthorne, Carol Streeter, Jane Schiffhauer, Cynthia Fuhrman, Karen and John Spencer and many others.
