Wednesday, October 08, 2014
Bill Cosby, comedy and television legend, was seen arriving in Portland last night. Cosby is in town to perform at a sold-out benefit tonight at the Portland Art Museum. "The Steve Allen Comedy Show" is a benefit for New Avenues for Youth.
According to New Avenues, "Every year, this signature event brings together a night of great laughs and good times to Portland ... over 500 community supporters, business leaders, and philanthropists gathered together, sharing food, drink, and laughter in the company of a legendary American performer."
And this year's performer just so happens to be Mr. Cosby. Hey, hey, hey!
Film actor Anton Yelchin has also been spotted in Portland's Pearl District.
Perhaps best known for his work as "Chekov" in the reboot of the "Star Trek" movies series, it looks like Yelchin is in town for "The Green Room." The film, directed by Jeremy Saulnier, is being produced by Neil Kopp, the well-respected powerhouse behind films such as "Old Joy," "Paranoid Park," and "Wendy and Lucy." According to Variety, “Green Room”centers on a punk rock band find themselves trapped in a secluded venue after stumbling upon an act of violence, fighting for their lives against a gang of white power skinheads."
