One of the top finalists on this season of The Voice, Taylor John Williams, a singer song-writer from Portland, was spotted Wednesday night at the Sentinel Hotel downtown.

Williams, 23, was whisked from LA complete with a camera crew to star as the surprise performer for The Buzz Radio 101.5 FM's 'Deck the Hall Ball.' William's crew hastily shooed people away while filming him outside the hotel saying, "no pictures, no pictures."

The Ball also features performers Christina Perri, American Authors and Andy Grammar. The event serves as a toy drive and fundraiser for the Children's Cancer Association. 

Williams first received national recognition for his talent when he auditioned for The Voice. (watch video below). Now he's among the top five finalists on the show this season. 

Before going on The Voice, Williams worked at the Sniff Dog Hotel in Northwest Portland where he would often play his guitar and sing in the lobby. 

The Deck the Hall Ball is tonight at the Sentinel Hotel, 614 SW 11th Ave. 7 PM - 9 PM, tonight (Wednesday) Dec. 3.
