video: The 2015 Portland Rose Festival Set To Feature ‘Walk Off The Earth’

This summer 101.9 KINK radio will be teaming up with the Portland Rose Festival to celebrate KINK on the Waterfront — New Music Discovery Showcase. 

This showcase will feature, Walk Off The Earth, a multi-talented five-piece musical phenomena that is based out of Burlington, Ontario. Their five-people-playing-one-guitar interpretation of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” recently garnered over 35 million views on YouTube in two weeks. 

Walk Off The Earth will undoubtedly be a major attraction of the 2015 Portland Rose Festival celebration. 

Opening acts for this event will include: Scars on 45, Kopecky, and The Wind + The Wave.

“KINK has been at the forefront of Music Discovery in Portland since our inception in 1968,” said Brad Dolbeer, 101.9 KINK’s Program Director. “We continue that tradition with our KINK on the Waterfront series.”

This event will take place on Saturday, June 6th, 2015, at 5:30pm in the Rose Festival RoZone at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park. An exclusive 101.9 KINK pre-sale will be going on from 10am-mindnight on April 9th. Regular tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of.

Easter Cruise

The Starlight Parade

The Starlight Parade is a classic and popular event for families. Enjoy approximately 100 illuminated floats stroll down Portland streets, along with traditional marching bands and even a synchronized umbrella team. Rabbit Romp

Kids will love Rabbit Romp, an easter egg hunt at The Oregon Zoo. The candy egg hunt is for children ages three to ten. Toddlers age two and under can also join in the fun at the Bear Walk Café. Make sure to bring a basket to collect the compostable "plastic" eggs and prizes.

Latourell Falls Hike

Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest

Your child won’t stop oohing and aahing once they see the 40 acres of colorful tulips. “From Lily-flowered tulips to Parrot tulips, visitors will see a bulb in every hue,” says Barb Iverson of Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.
