If you want to make fall treats, why go to New Seasons when you can pick your own apples or pumpkins yourself in one of Oregon's ripe, October valleys? If you want to be truly frightened, why wait for your bills to come through the mail when you can check out Fright Town or the 13th Door? And if you really want to feel lost -- forget your weekly couple's counseling session, there are plenty of corn mazes throughout Multnomah and the surrounding counties.
October is here. Where are you?

Davis Graveyard 2015
Said to be an exhibit of the "creepy crawlies," the Davis Graveyard attracts much attention from spook-seeking Portlanders. This year, there is a new mausoleum that joins plenty of other scary displays. With additional fog machines, background noises, and giggling teenagers -- this attraction will bring back some childhood fright.
Located at the corner of Johnson Creek Boulevard and 43rd
Ghost Town
Are you tired of ghost towns without any actual ghosts? Look no further than the Ghost Town Halloween Haunt. There's something for everyone here: western shoot outs, Hollywood-themed photography, and of course, a beer garden.

Beyond Bizarre Ghost Tour

Fright Town
Want to see three haunted houses for just $22? Remember, you might need an additional five dollars for a stiff drink afterwards to fend off your nerves. Fright Town is back with three new haunted houses this year full of actors who will pop out of you and remind you that you are not alone. In a way, that actually sounds kind of sweet, right?
FrightTown fills the 40,000 square foot Exhibit Hall beneath the Memorial Coliseum at the Rose Quarter.
Fear Asylum
You are actually encouraged to go insane at the 2015 Fear Asylum haunted house. If you don't want to check out the Asylum, there's also a spooky children's carnival for your kids.
13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd. Milwaukie, Oregon 97222
House of Shadows
Marketed as Oregon's only "full contact haunted house," the House of Shadows in Gresham is back with much more than just a confusing tagline. It also has the potential to scare the living daylights out of you from October 2nd through November 1st.
1776 NW Fairview Dr., Gresham
Milburn's Haunted Manor
Nobody should be alone during the holidays. Unless you prefer not to have a hand to hold when a ghost sneaks up from behind you and grabs your forearm. Milburn's Haunted Manor looks like a pleasant country cottage from the outside -- but it's a different story from inside. Also, check out the Graveside Grill after your scare for some curly fries.
11503 Broadacres Rd NE, Hubbard, OR 97032
Haunted Granary
Event tagline for Carlton's Haunted Halloween Granary: "We can't wait to scare you." Good to know it's personal.
Halloween Fantasy Trail
Walk through a lighted, wooded "Fantasy Trail" that is dressed in spooky decorations with many terrifying sounds. One who enjoys unpleasant, whimsical feelings will enjoy the dark majestic quality of this attraction. Bonus: there's also a 40-foot castle with Halloween scenes spread throughout it that you can walk through. Not to mention, there is also a maze, tunnel, suspension bridge, and more!
19754 South Ridge Road, Oregon City, Oregon 97045
Honeycrisp Festival
How about a festive hayride or some old-fashioned apple picking? You can bet your bottom dollar that you'll find some pies, cakes, and other seasonal baked goods made from Honeycrisp apples from October 3rd through the 4th during the farms' Honeycrisp Festival!
8129 Clear Creek Road, Parkdale, Oregon
Morning Shade Farm

Haunted Pub Tour

13th Door
One of Portland's best haunted house attractions, the 13th Door is Portland's "oldest Halloween attraction." Though we think they might be forgetting about graveyards or bars, we must admit: it is pretty cool to be part of an animated, theatrical Halloween set.
3855 SW Murray Blvd, Beaverton, OR
Airlie Hills Farm
Want to see something (corn) a-maze-ing! Drive from Portland to Monmouth and experience the Airlie Hills Farm Corn Maze for only $7. You can also check out some hay pyramids and farm animals!
Airlie Hills Farm, 10720 Airlie Rd, Monmouth, OR 97361
Scream
Why settle for a haunted house when you can go for a haunted amusement park? Scream, Portland's haunted "scream park," is an amusement park of many wonders: haunted houses, carnival rides, refreshments, and the most important of all: front of the line passes.
1940 North Victory Blvd
Rimsky-Korsakoffee House
This October, you might want to have an eccentric dining experience in a notorious haunted house. The Rimsky-Korsakoffee House shows its true colors during the fall season when its subtle live pianists and odd late night hours (open from 7-midnight) make the most sense. Also, don't visit the upstairs bathroom and try to convince yourself that the doll feet hanging out of the ceiling are not somewhat alarming. Remember, another oddity: this place only serves coffee drinks and desserts!
707 SE 12th Ave.
Elshoff Manor
Because a haunted house should be in a gothic manor setting. Elshoff Manor returns to provide some traditional Halloween scares. As a "guest" to Elshoff's manor you may just end up an experiment in order to test the probability of immortality!
Zombie Paintball
Options, options. Diamond Hill allows you to enter exotic corn mazes where you may also get ambushed by zombies. Luckily for you, you have your paintball gun to defend you.
1070 South 6th, box 75, Harrisburg, OR 97446
Helvetia Lavender Farm
An Oregon fall favorite activity: picking apples. Indeed, picking apples is a way of life. But what should the eccentric Portlander do that's less traditional? Pick lavender! The Helvetia Lavender Farm allows you to pick your own lavender and then enjoy a full tea service with wondrous views of the Willamette River Valley in the background!
Baggenstos Corn Maze
Want to experience a corn maze in the dark? The Baggenstos Corn Maze offers a tricky deviation on the classic fall maze with its pitch dark corn maze on Friday and Saturday nights throughout October. Caution: if you are 16 or under, you need an adult to accompany you. You know, so you don't get eaten by the shrubs.
