The Circus Project, a non-profit centered on developing circus arts through training programs and performances, is hosting its Summer Community Showcase on August 30.
Several students in the program and two professional circus artists, Patrick McGuire and Anna Thomas-Henry, will stage a performance as part of the event.
Patrick McGuire is a juggler who spent most of his career performing for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, as well as abroad in countries like Japan. He has performed in 3,000 shows over a 12 year period.
Anna Thomas-Henry specializes in fabric, a circus aerial art form, and has previously earned first place in the 2015 U.S. Aerial Championships, NYC. She was also a finalist in the Denver 2015 Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival, as well as a finalist in the Hong Kong 2015 PPS Aerial Performance Tournament.
The showcase will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be located on 1420 NW 17th Avenue in the Pearl District.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information click here.
