15-Year-Old Boy Hit by Car Near George Middle School in Portland

A 15-year-old boy was hit by a driver was hit by driver on North Columbia Boulevard and Midway Street on Tuesday morning. He was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment to potentially life-threatening injuries. 

All traffic on North Columbia Boulevard is closed between North Midway and Burr Avenues. 

Operations at George Middle School are not affected by the investigation. 

This investigation, conducted by the Traffic Division's Major Crash Team, is in the early stages and updates will be provided when they become available

The Incident 

On Tuesday August 30, 2016, at 7:47 a.m., North Precinct and Youth Services Division officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a driver on North Columbia Boulevard and Midway Street. 

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a 15-year-old boy suffering from traumatic injuries. He has been transported to a Portland hospital for treatment to potentially life-threatening injuries. 

The driver stopped approximately one block away from the scene then walked back to talk with police.
