Astronaut & Former US Senator Glenn Passes Away at 95

John Glenn

From astronaut and United States Senator John Glenn passed away at the age of 95 on Thursday in Ohio. 

Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth in 1962 and became a national hero for the feat. He made three orbits around the earth. 

In 1974, Glenn was elected to Congress, winning a seat in the US Senate. He served four terms in Congress, leaving in 1999.
