Back Fence PDX at the Alberta Rose Theatre

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? Whether it’s Rocky Balboa or the Bad News bears, everyone loves hearing the tale of someone beat the odds and find success.

To get a live taste of what it’s like to live through a true underdog story, join Back Fence PDX and the Telling Stories event on Saturday at the Alberta Rose Theatre.

Television writer Joey Salmon, Essayist Courtenay Hameister and author Virgie Tovar will tell guests their own true underdog stories. Back Fence promise a unique storytelling experience with “no lies, no notes, no memorization.”

Cartoonist and art teacher Ryan Alexander-Tanner and Portland Public School District member and improviser Chris Williams will also be on hand to tell their stories. Members of the audience will even have a chance to get in on the action with the audience lightning round.

The show will be hosted and produced by B. Frayn Masters and Mindy Nettifee, and Top Pot donuts will be available during the intermission. For more information or to get your tickets, check out the Back Fence PDX website.
