BREAKING: 10 Reported Dead After Shooting at Umpqua Community College

Ten people were killed including the gun man and seven others were injured in a shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, according to State Police spokesman Bill Fugate.

Chris Boice, Douglas County Commissioner, told CNN that the shooter is in custody. That report proved to be false as the shooter was killed. Authorities earlier reported that they were responding to an active shooter on the campus 

About Umpqua

Umpqua Community College is located in Roseburg, a city of about 22,000 people located about 180 miles south of Portland.

It educates roughly 3,300 students full-time students and 16,000 part-time students. The school first offered classes in 1961, in a rented facility in Roseburg, before opening its current campus in 1967. The school's website describes its rural, 100 acre campus as "a peaceful, safe atmosphere."
