Tuesday, October 07, 2014
On Oct 4, at approximately 2:10 a.m. Willam Coleman III ,21, of Gresham was talking with his cousins in the 17200 block of Northeast Glisan Street when he was approached by a man.
Coleman had purchased a handgun earlier that day, had it on him and in public view, according to police.
Coleman said the suspect approached him, asked for a cigarette and asked about Coleman’s pistol.
“I like your gun. Give it to me,” the suspected reportedly said after pulling a semi-automatic pistol of his own. He then fled on foot, police said.
The suspect was described as a thin, light-skinned black male, 19 - 23 years old, six foot tall, clean cut with a small patch of facial hair on his chin and short wavy hair, police said.
The stolen gun was a black Walther brand model P22 semi-automatic pistol.
Anybody one with information about the case was asked to call the Gresham Police at 503.618.2719.
