Man Killed in Crash with Tractor Trailer Truck

A 24-year-old Hermiston man was killed on Sunday when his car collided with a tractor-trailer truck on Highway 207 in Umatilla County.
Richard Cox was traveling on 207 near milepost 5 in a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse when he used a private driveway to turn around. As he backed onto the highway, he was struck by a 2012 Kenworth truck with a trailer, driven by 62-year-old Harvey S. Hass.
Jerome Martel Price, 30, of Hermiston, was a passenger in Cox’s vehicle. He left the scene prior to the Oregon State Police. He was interviewed while seeking medical treatment.
Cox was transported Good Shepherd Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Hass was not injured in the collision.
