One Injured in East Portland Shooting

East Precinct Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance across from a hookah lounge at 12446 S.E. Powell Blvd.
Officers arrived on the scene and located a person with a serious gunshot injury. Two of the officers were able to aid the victim with a compress, staunching the flow of blood while medical teams responded.
Officers discovered that a large fight had broken out, which resulted in both the individual being shot and a vehicle being struck with gunfire as well.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and put in intensive care, but expected to survive.
Police believe the incident was gang related. The Gang Violence Response Team is conducting an investigation, which remains ongoing. No arrests have ben made and no suspect information is available.
