GoLocalPDX ranked Oregon's most violent cities based on the latest Federal Bureau of Investigation crime data from 2013.
The FBI released its 2013 crime statistics earlier this week, breaking down data on a state by state and community basis.
See Slides Below: Oregon's 50 Most Violent Cities
The information reported includes violent crimes including murder, sexual assault, aggravated assault and robbery, as well as property crimes including burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft and arson.
To determine the most dangerous cities in Oregon, GoLocalPDX divided the total number of violent crimes in a city by the city's population. We then multiplied that number by 1,000 to determine the violent crime per capita per 1,000 residents.
Portland ranks among the top 10 most dangerous cities, along with Ontaio, Gresham, Toledo and Newport. What's the number one most violent city in Oregon? See slides below.
