A suspect in an October 2015 shooting in Portland was arrested by the Portland Police Bureau on Monday.

Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team officers arrested 32-year-old Marcus Gant in connection to a non-lethal shooting in North Portland that occurred on October 22. Gant was charged with attempted murder, assault, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

North Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire near Northeast Killingsworth Street and Sandy Boulevard at 2:34 PM on the day of the shooting.

Officers arrived and found two people, a 39-year-old male and a 38-year-old female with non-life-threatening injuries in a 1990s Sedan. Both were transported to a Portland hospital and survived the shooting.

Police said that officers learned that the suspect vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan, was last seen eastbound on Killingsworth Street then northbound on I-205. GET detectives then conducted an investigation that resulted in probable cause to arrest Gant for the shooting.

The Tactical Operations Division is continuing to investigate several incidents of gun violence citywide.
