Police Investigate Death Along Southeast Railroad Tracks

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Police investigate death.

Police are investigating a death along the railroad tracks in Southeast Portland.

Police say an adult male in his 30s was found dead Tuesday morning along the tracks at Southeast 1st Avenue and Taylor Street. He was likely struck by a passing train overnight, police said.

Railroad traffic is delayed and Southeast Taylor is closed from Water to 2nd Avenues.

The cause and manner of death has not been determined.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The Union Pacific Police are also involved in the investigation.
