Police Investigating After Nearly 4 Dozen Gunshots Fired in Piedmont Neighborhood

Nearly four dozen gunshots were fired at homes in the Piedmont Neighborhood with no known injuries reported by any residents. 

The Incident 

North Precinct officers responded to the area of North Albina Avenue and Ainsworth Street after multiple calls to 9-1-1 reporting gunfire at approximately 12:59 a.m. on Sunday morning. Officers in the area also hear the gun shots. 

Upon arrival, officers located evidence of gunfire in the street and damage to three residences, but no injuries were reported. 

The evidence found at the scene indicates that nearly four dozen gunshots were fired at homes. 

One of the homes has been shot at in the past and an associated person was a shooting victim several months ago. 

Witnesses described hearing the vehicle speeding out of the area after the gunfire. 

The Gang Enforcement Team responded to assists and took over the crime scene. 

The investigation is ongoing.
