Stranded Dog Rescued By Boat

Monday, January 25, 2016

A dog that was stranded in the Clackamas River was saved by Clackamas Firefighters on Saturday.

Clackamas firefighters and the Sheriff’s Office  were called to the Barton bridge over the Clackmas River on Saturday night. A yellow lab had fallen off a cliff in Barton into the river.

The Sherriff’s Office responded from their boat house, as did Clackamah fFire Boat 8. Both units arrived at the same time and worked together to secure the lab.

Boat 8 took the owners with them to assist in calming the dog. Upon returning to land, the dog was tired but unharmed.
