Teen Convicted in Rape near UO Stadium Arrested for Murder of Forest Grove Mom

Wednesday, April 01, 2015

Jaime Tinoco, 17. C/O Washington County Sheriff's Office

The 17-year-old serving a 14-year sentence for the rape of a 39-year-old woman near the University of Oregon's Autzen Stadium in September 2014 has been arrested for the murder of the Forest Grove woman Nicole Laube.

Jaime Tinoco was sentenced a week ago after pleading guilty to rape, kidnapping, sexual abuse and assault charges, and was arrested Wednesday for the killing of Laube, 29, at a Beaverton apartment in August.

Tinoco attacked the 39-year-old woman near Autzen stadium after he slipped away from a supervised outing with the Washington County Juvenile Department to watch the Ducks play Wyoming in September. Law enforcement officials were stumped over Laube's murder, but the Washington County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday Tinoco lived with his mother near the complex in Cedar Mills where Laube worked.

Tinoco was interviewed after his sentencing about Laube's murder, leading to a grand jury indictment Tuesday. The teen is charged with aggravated murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police released a composite sketch and description of Laube's attacker, but the investigation into who killed the mother of four failed to generate a lead.

Police said Laube described her killer in the moments before she died.
