Three Arrested for Gresham Murder in Washington After Pursuit

Three men were arrested on Friday for the murder of a Gresham man.

Just after 2:30 on Friday, February 5, Gresham Police respond to the report for a man shot near the intersection of SE Start Street and SE 174th Avenue. Police arrived on the scene and found an adult male who had died as a result of gunshots. The suspects had already fled the scene when police arrived.

A short time later, Portland Police found a car matching the description of the suspects’ traveling north on I-205. Portland Police attempted to pull over the car but the car refused, and a pursuit continued into Washington.

A Cowlitz County Deputy eventually stopped the car by deploying spike strips on Interstate 5 near the City of Kelso. A Washington State Patrol Trooper also used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the car.

Three suspects inside the car were arrested without further incident. 23-year-old Rony Celis of Renton, Washington, 20-year-old Charlies Moimoi of Seatac, Washington and 18-year-old Clayton Harrel of Des Moines, Washington were booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on charges related to the homicide.

The victim's name is not being released at this time and it is not known if the incident is gang related. The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information in regards to the case is asked to call the Gresham Police at (503) 618-2719.
