Two Killed In Crash With Parked Semi Truck

Two people were killed when the driver of a Ford F-150 rammed the truck into a parked semi-trailer and fled the scene.
Oregon State Police responded to the report of a crash on Highland Avenue near the intersection of Donaldson Road in Grants pass at 9:41 PM on January 8.
Officers arrived on the scene and found that the 1998 Ford F-150 was traveling south on Highland Avenue when it sideswiped a semi-trailer parked on the right shoulder. The truck continued for roughly 400 feet before coming to a stop on the right shoulder of the roadway.
The driver of the F-150 fled the scene. The truck’s front passenger, Megan L. Becklund, 32, of Grants Pass, was pronounced dead on the scene my medical personnel. Jeremy C. Pearson, 36, of Ashland, the rear passenger, was also pronounced dead.
The driver of the F-150 has not yet been placed in custody. State Police are asking that may have seen the Ford F150 prior to the crash, saw it at the location prior to the arrival of law enforcement, or picked up a hitch-hiker in the area is asked to call the Oregon State Police dispatch center 541-440-3333.
