Warning Shot Fired At Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution Following Fight

The inmates refused verbal directives to stop fighting, a which time staff administered pepper spray. The inmates continued fighting and a warning shot was fired into a designated safe area.
The inmates stopped fighting upon the shot being fired.
A total of 47 inmates were put in special housing for their involvement in the fight. No injuries were reported.
The Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution remains on full lockdown, and visiting is cancelled until further notice.
An investigation to determine the cause of the fight is ongoing.
