Blazers ‘Real Training Camp’ TV Segment Airs Oct. 3

Trail Blazers practice begins Tuesday.

But before two-a-days commence, the team must report Monday for Media Day. A lot of them have already arrived.

LaMarcus Aldridge is here. Chris Kaman is here. Robin Lopez. Dorrell Wright. Wesley Matthews. Damian Lillard and so on, all at the practice facility in Tualatin, where they've been going at it in informal scrimmages--essentially playing pickup.

Joining the Blazers on Tuesday morning will be the cast and crew of NBA TV's 'Real Training Camp,' as Portland is one of the five teams who'll be profiled this preseason.

As per the NBA's statement:

"NBA TV’s NBAReal Training Camp will go all-access with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards as they prepare for the upcoming season. The preseason series will provide exclusive access to practice sessions, players, coaches and front office executives, along with interviews and analysis live from training sites around the NBA."

Portland's segment, hosted by Steve Smith and Vince Cellini, airs on NBA TV live at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3,

Whether or not they'll have anything to say, well, that's another matter. Portland is a pretty settled team. Not a new face in the starting lineup, and nary a rookie vying for contention.

In other words: Hard Knocks, HBO's dramatic football preseason documentary program, this is not. Unfortunately the NFL's preseason, thanks to rounds of brutal, career and life-altering cuts, has something the NBA's doesn't: drama.
