March Madness: So You Think You Can Dance?
Monday, March 30, 2015
Now throughout the first two rounds we had our fun, but now it's time for the big boys to use the court. It's like when the hot and popular girl gets the guy, it almost makes sense. Sure, everyone loves an underdog, but this years group of schools don't meet that criteria. We are talking about the Goliath's man handling the David's.
The primary example is the seeded teams that still remain in the tournament. By now we all expected Duke to choke on their deviled eggs, but the team has managed to two-step their way into the elite 8 almost seamlessly. Louisville has left jaws pinned to the floor since their run began. Their Head Coach read in quote "we are not a great team this year", after winning their last game. Confidence baby, confidence?
Other teams have plowed through the tournament with no regards for human life. It's getting to the point where teams like Gonzaga and Kentucky should be playing in their own separate tournament. I really don't know what they are feeding those kids up in Spokane, but I sure do hope it spills into the water on its way through Portland.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have proved that the Irish Jig deserves a spot in the big dance. The Irish have become a shooting phenomenon, and show no signs of stopping. Tonight the Irish playing Kentucky, and Notre Dame is the only team that holds a fighting chance of beating the Wildcats on their side of the bracket. Whip out your clovers and clogs because Notre Dame is going to need all the help they can get.
As the Elite 8 round kicked off yesterday it seemed all of the top seeds were competing. No sign of underdog life remains. It seems the world has been wiped clean of all its sleeper teams. The best teams will be facing off today and tomorrow. Louisville takes on Michigan State, and Gonzaga faces Duke. Brace yourselves, this is as good as it gets.
