Seahawks Trade Down in Draft, Take O-Lineman Ifedi From Texas A&M

Friday, April 29, 2016

The Seattle Seahawks traded down to the 31st pick in the draft and took offensive lineman Germain Ifedi, a junior out of Texas A&M.

The Seahawks exchanged picks with the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos who would take quarterback Paxton Lynch from Memphis at number 17.

The Draft

In the first round, it was quarterback Jared Goff who went number one overall to the LA Rams while quarterback Carson Wentz went number two overall tot he Philadelphia Eagles.

One of the major storylines in the draft was Laremy Tunsil, an offensive lineman out of Ole Miss. Tunsil was expected to be a top five pick in the draft, however, just prior to the draft a video was released on YouTube of him appearing to smoke marijuana.

Tunsil ended up dropping to the 13th pick and going to the Miami Dolphins.
