WATCH: Seahawks’ Kam Chancellor Forces Game-Saving Fumble
Monday, October 05, 2015
The Seahawks were in trouble. Time was running out and the Detroit Lions were knocking on the door.
With less than two minutes to play Detroit's Calvin Johnson caught a pass and lunged towards the end-zone. En-route, Seattle safety Kam Chancellor punched the ball from behind, free from Johnson's grip. Seattle pushed the ball out the back of the end-zone and it was ruled a touchback. Seattle was rewarded the ball, and the victory.

Chancellor's game-saving play was a bold reminder of his importance to the Seahawks defense. Chancellor missed Seattle's first two games in a hold-out over his contract. The Seahawks lost both of those games, one of which turned late as Chancellor's replacement slipped, leading to a game-turning score.
With his clutch play on Monday, Chancellor's value has never been clearer. He saved not only the game, but perhaps the season, as falling into a 1-3 hole would've been awful difficult to climb out of.
The forced-fumble wasn't Chancellor's only harrassment of Johson, whom he layed out earlier in the game:
