Why The Seemingly Snubbed Damian Lillard Will Still Make the All-Star Team

When reserves for the 2015 All-Star game were announced Thursday, Damian Lillard's name was left out.

The internet--along with Lillard's teammates and supporters--went wild.

But the fact remains: Lillard is likely to join the Western Conference All-Stars, including teammate LaMarcus Aldridge, in New York this February.

For that, thank Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, voted a starter by fans, is scheduled to undergo a shoulder surgery that will keep him off the court for the next nine months.

When all that becomes official--unless, for some wild reason Bryant, seemingly unable to play now, takes off the comings weeks only to start in the All-Star game--Lillard will be next in line take his place.

As many of the NBA media-sphere noted, including, most-preeminently, Charles Barkely, Lillard deserved the nod in the first place

And when Bryant presumably bows out, he'll get it.
