New Play Exhibit at Portland Children’s Museum to Open Saturday

A new, permanent exhibit 'GROUNDWORK' is set to open at the Portland Children's Museum on Saturday.

GROUNDWORK is a play area filled with rubber mulch that children can move around with buckets, shovels and chutes. It's essentially a landscaping opportunity for kids.

The museum hopes that the new exhibit will encourage exercise, physical, mental and social coordination, and allow children the ability to see the results of determination.

The exhibit was constructed in-house using repurposed and sustainable materials.

GROUNDWORK opens 9 AM, Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Children's Museum, Washington Park, 4015 SW Canyon Road, Portland, 97221.
