Ben and Jerry’s and The Onion Release GMO Labeling Video for Oregon

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Ben and Jerry’s ice cream company teamed up with The Onion to create a video calling Oregonians to back Measure 92, which would require labeling GMO products in Oregon.  The video asks voters to join the “munch on Oregon” and to sign a petition to FDA for mandatory GMO labeling.

So far the video has over 2,000 views on youtube and the offical Ben and Jerry's Facebook post for the video has over 1,500 likes and 400 shares.

Ben and Jerry’s has supported GMO labeling across the country, with a page on their website devoted to GMO information and different state’s movements towards labeling. There is a page specifically for Oregon’s GMO upcoming vote.

The company released the Food Fight Fudge Brownie ice cream flavor in their home state of Vermont earlier this year and in Oregon this month to support GMO labeling. Ben and Jerry’s has donated $85,662.90 of in-kind contributions the Yes on 92 Campaign in Oregon.
