Children of Incarcerated Parents Receive Presents in Portland Suburb

Thursday, December 25, 2014

Portland-area children with a parent incarcerated in the Washington County Jail received Christmas presents this year, according to Sheriff's deputies.

The gifts were provided by Washington County Sheriff's Office Jail Programs staff, along with its re-entry coordinators.

Jail programs staff were provided with the names, ages of children along with the contact information of their care-providers to ensure no child of an incarcerated parent was left behind, said Sgt. Bob Ray of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

"This marks another year the WCRC was able to help the children of incarcerated parents," Washington County Sheriff Pat Garrett said. "This is another great example of treating all people with dignity and respect."
