A Preacher will speak in Portland about race and police brutality regarding the riots in Ferguson, Missouri on Saturday Nov. 1. The event, "The Ferguson Story: What Really Happened," will be hosted by Albina Ministerial Alliance (AMA) Coalition for Justice and Police Reform and lead by Reverend Robert White.

Rev. White is the president of Clergy United for Peace in Ferguson and has been a leader in seeking justice for Michael Brown, the unarmed African American teenager killed by Ferguson police on August 9.

Urban League of Portland said White will speak on issues of race, police brutality and militarization.

The AMA Coalition will also update the community on the U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit against Portland Police for their use of excessive force.

The forum will be held at at Maranatha Church, 4222 Northeast 12th Ave., Nov. 1 at 3:00 PM.

Urban League asks people wishing to volunteer for the event, or organizations wishing to co-sponsor the event should contact AMA Coalition Chair Rev. Dr. LeRoy Haynes, Jr. at 503-287-0261.
