Portland Police Seek Public’s Help Finding Victims of Sex Offender

Thursday, October 02, 2014

Joseph William Wehage

The Portland Police Sex Crimes Unit is asking for the public's help identifying any victims that may have had contact with 39-year-old sex offender, Joseph William Wehage.

Wehage was booked in Multnomah County Jail on Wednesday, after being extradited from Tennessee for multiple felony sex crimes, according to Portland Police.

Police said that detectives began an investigation in August 2014, after learning that Wehage sexually abused a young teen boy who babysat for the Wehage family in Southwest Portland.

Wehage attended a Southwest Portland area church and may have had access to additional victims who were used as babysitters for the Wehage family, according to Portland Police.

Wehage was charged with 11 felony acts including several counts of sodomy in the first and second degree.

Portland Police have asked anyone with additional information about Wehage to contact Detective Jason Christensen at (503) 823-0894, [email protected]
