Representative Mark Johnson Files For Re-Election

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Rep. Mark Johnson (R-Hood River) filed on Monday for his fourth term as state representative for Oregon’s House District 52.

“It has been an honor to serve the constituents of House District 52,” said Rep. Johnson. “During my legislative career, I have focused on building relationships and passing impactful legislation to increase educational opportunities for our kids, grow small businesses, and provide much needed services across our communities.”

House District 52 encompasses Hood River, Cascade Locks, Corbett, Sandy, portions of Estacada and Gresham, as well as other communities within the Hood River, Clackamas, and Multnomah Counties.

For the 2015 Legislative Session, Rep. Johnson served on the House Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, where he is the longest serving member, and the Revenue Committee. He is also Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee. Rep. Johnson will serve on these committees again during the upcoming February session.

“Mark has always been a strong and reliable representative of our community,” said Fred Duckwall, of Duckwall Fruit in Hood River. “His ability to advocate on a wide variety of issues and collaborate with individuals and leaders on many levels makes a difference in our ability to be successful.”

Rep. Johnson was first elected to the House of Representatives in November of 2010. He is also serving his third term as a member of the Hood River County School Board.

“I’m proud of what has been accomplished in my time as a legislator and have been honored to represent the most beautiful district in the state. I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively in Salem to craft good solutions-oriented legislation that will move our state forward and will also be good for the residents of District 52,” said Rep. Johnson.
