Toronto Raptors’ Terrence Ross Commits a Team to Portland Pro Am
Friday, May 22, 2015
Robby Davis, GolocalPDX Contributor
Surprisingly, these two dynamic players were once teammates back in 2008. Together they won the 5A High School State Championship for Jefferson.
This summer we’ll have the chance to see them as competitors.
Terrence Ross is the 2nd NBA player to commit a team to the Portland Pro Am, which is set to occur throughout July and August at Multnomah University.
"I’m really excited to be a part of the Pro Am, I think it will be another piece that helps establish Portland as a basketball city,” said Ross. “There are some great players that have come out of this city and this is something they can put their stamp on.”
Ross, the former Husky and NBA Slam Dunk Champion, hopes that some of his current and former teammates will join him in a few games throughout the summer.
With the NBA season winding down both Ross and Jones are planning on getting more involved within the Portland community. They will be raising funds and finding sponsors for youth initiatives in Portland that give resources to young athletes.
