Oregon Wins 19 Ribbons at Annual Cheese Competition

The Annual Cheese Competition operates as the largest cheese competition in the United States and included a total of 1,779 entries.

During the American Cheese Society’s 2015 Annual Cheese Competition, several of Oregon’s cheese makers won nineteen ribbons, including eight first-place awards. 

The Annual Cheese Competition operates as the largest cheese competition in the United States. 

This year, the awards were announced on July 31st, at the American Cheese Society’s 32nd Annual Conference. 

Thirty-eight cheese specialist were on the judging panel, deciding between 1,779 entries and 267 processors from both North and South America.

Oregon’s cheesemakers received recognition in eleven categories and twenty-three subcategories. 

Oregonians will have the chance to taste some of the acclaimed products during the Oregon Cheese Guild’s annual event, The Wedge, held on October 3rd.
